Chapter 4: Haunting Mike

Tommy's ghost continued to visit Sarah. He told her stories about their life together, small details that only the two of them knew. He comforted her when she was feeling down, and gave her strength when she needed it most.

But there was something else that Tommy's ghost was doing. He was haunting the pilot of the plane that crashed, Mike. Sarah didn't know how he was doing it, but she could see the effect it was having on Mike.

One day, Sarah received a phone call from Mike. She was surprised to hear from him, and a little nervous.

"Sarah, it's Mike. I need to talk to you," he said.

"What is it, Mike?"

"I've been seeing things, Sarah. Visions of your family, of Tommy. I can't escape them. They're haunting me."

Sarah's heart sank. She knew that Tommy's ghost was responsible for the visions.

"I'm sorry, Mike. I don't know what to say."

"I just wanted to apologize, Sarah. I'm so sorry for what happened. I can't imagine how you and the kids are feeling right now."

Sarah was touched by his words. She could hear the pain in his voice, the guilt and the shame.

"Mike, I forgive you. Tommy would want me to forgive you. He wouldn't want you to suffer like this."

There was a long pause on the other end of the line.

"Thank you, Sarah. That means a lot to me."

As Sarah hung up the phone, she realized that Tommy's ghost was still haunting Mike. He wanted him to understand the pain he had caused, to learn his lesson. But Sarah could see that it was hurting Mike more than it was helping him.

She decided to talk to Tommy's ghost about it.

"Tommy, I need you to stop haunting Mike. He's suffering, and it's not fair."

"I know, Sarah. But I need to make sure he learns his lesson. I can't rest until I know that you and the kids are safe."

"Tommy, I'm safe. We're safe. You don't have to keep haunting him. You don't have to keep punishing him."

There was a long silence.

"Okay, Sarah. I'll stop haunting him. But I need you to promise me something."

"What is it?"

"Promise me that you'll always remember me. That you'll never forget me."

"I promise, Tommy. I'll never forget you."

And with that, Tommy's ghost was gone. Sarah felt a sense of loss, but also a sense of relief. She knew that Tommy's ghost had done what he needed to do, and that he was finally at rest.

Sarah began to move on with her life. She knew that Tommy's ghost would always be with her, watching over her and the kids. And she knew that he had found peace, finally able to rest after years of dedication to his family and his passion for baseball.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39
