One day, as Emma was leaving the church after a long day of work, she heard someone calling out her name. She turned around to see Josh jogging towards her.
"Hey, Emma, wait up!" he said, a big smile on his face.
"Hey, Josh. What's up?" Emma asked, curious.
"I was wondering if you might want to grab dinner with me tonight," Josh said, looking a little nervous.
Emma's heart skipped a beat. She had been trying to keep her feelings in check, but the idea of spending more time with Josh was hard to resist.
"I'd love to," Emma said, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Great! How about I pick you up at 7?" Josh asked.
"Sounds perfect," Emma said, feeling a little giddy with excitement.
As she walked back to her apartment, Emma tried to tamp down her nerves. She knew that going on a date with Josh was a big step, and she wanted to be sure she was doing the right thing.
But as she looked back over the past few weeks, she realized how much she had enjoyed getting to know Josh. He was kind and thoughtful, with a deep love of God and a desire to serve others. Emma knew that he was someone special, and she wanted to explore the possibility of a deeper connection.
That night, as Josh arrived to pick her up, Emma felt a mix of nerves and excitement. They went to a cozy little Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, and spent the evening talking about their hopes, dreams, and fears.
As they walked back to her apartment, Josh took Emma's hand and looked deeply into her eyes.
"Emma, I know we've been taking things slow, but I just have to tell you… I really like you," he said, his voice soft and sincere.
Emma's heart skipped a beat as she looked up at him. She had been trying to keep her feelings in check, but the way Josh was looking at her made it impossible.
"I like you too, Josh," she said, feeling a flush of warmth spread through her body.
Josh leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips, and Emma felt a surge of electricity shoot through her. She knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one full of love, passion, and possibility.
